Overlooking the lake from the top of Hyde Bay Colony, Twin Pines is a two-sided cottage, which we call Big Pine and Little Pine.
Sleep up to 8 people in 3 bedrooms (1 king, 2 queens) plus 2 twin Murphy beds in the living room on one of the sides. Each side has its own entrance, its own full kitchen, and both sides have a door out to the back patio, so you can feel connected while also each having your own space.
During your stay, Hyde Bay Colony has wonderful communal areas to enjoy, and we also provide you with the equipment you need to enjoy your time on the lake.
Bringing your boat is a wonderful way to explore the beautiful expanse of this 4,000-acre glacier lake, which formed 10-12,000 years ago and feeds the Susquehanna River. Great for waterskiing, fishing, and exploring, and we have a boat slip for you to use.
Otherwise, explore the ins and outs of Hyde Bay and Otsego Lake in our two kayaks, and enjoy a refreshing swim--jump and dive in from the floating dock or paddle in the shallows of the swimming area. Bring water shoes, the shallows are stony!
Try your hand at catching crayfish or cast a line from the shore or the boat dock (lake trout, walleye, yellow perch, and smallmouth bass are some of the main species, and we provide poles for our guests).
Guests have access to the following amenities:

Adorable couple own this place. We've visited but never stayed (we keep saying that we will) and really enjoyed the property, the lakefront and the general atmosphere. It is really a destination (Cooperstown is lovely but once we got to the property, we'd just calm) that fed the soul. All the creature comforts of home with all the best OUTSIDE and all of it being family-friendly and relaxing and romantic. |

This little home away from home has recently become an annual visit. My favorite bit of paradise in U.S.A. Quiet and comfortable, relaxing and full of nature. The lake is refreshing to swim in, the beach is the most beautiful during sunset hour. Cooperstown, and all it has to offer, just down the twisty-turny lake road is fabulous to visit. But really, it's the lake and the cottage that has stolen our hearts. A must - every year. |

Nestled in the woods, on the sunset side of Otsego Lake, we enjoyed many a night around a campfire, at lakeside with other people at the resort, waiting for the sun to go down. Quiet, but still family friendly, The cabin had AC but we never used it. The weather in upstate NY was mild and lovely (the water was NIPPY, though - ha!) and we slept like logs in comfy beds. Loved our stay and loved Pam and John - the hosts. Highly recommend. |
