Community and Cottage Rules

Let us be clear that there are strictly no team parties allowed at Twin Pines and Hyde Bay Colony. It’s a question firstly of safety, but also of parking space, and peace and quiet for the residents. Glimmerglass State Park, which is right next door, is a great option for team gatherings; they have lifeguards, parking, toilets, and food.

  • No team parties
  • No jet skis
  • No ATVs
  • No tents
  • No pets
  • No smoking in the cottage
  • 4 cars are permitted per rental, plus 2 additional guest cars during the day only
  • There is no lifeguard: swim at your own risk, and please watch your children!
  • Our kayaks are labeled “Miller,” and you are welcome to use them
    • They are down at the waterfront near the boat dock (other boats belong to others, do not use them)
    • Life vests and kayak paddles are in the utility room of Twin Pines cottage
    • Generally, anything marked “Miller” is yours to use
  • Do not fish in the swimming area (the boat docks are fine, as is the shoreline away from the swimming area)
    • Fishing poles are also in the utility room, and you are welcome to use them
  • We have a slip on the boat dock which you are welcome to use for your own boat
    • However, there is no boat launch at Hyde Bay Colony, so you must make your own arrangements for getting your boat onto Otsego lake
  • Free firewood is provided for the campfire down by the lake, which everyone is welcome to use. If you’re the last to leave, please douse it with lake water using the bucket provided
  • Quiet Time is at 11pm
